Share Your Hapa Story 015: Lauren Lola @akolaurenlola

Being mixed race was not something that I grew up with a full-fledged awareness for. However, through racist encounters and nosy questions, I eventually had to come head-to-head with understanding my mixed race identity, once and for all.

As a result, I know myself a little better now. I’m someone who has the privilege to trace my lineage back to several different parts of the world, and in multiple unique ways, they all contribute to the elements that make up who I am as a person.

I am an American of Filipino, Portuguese, German, and Irish descent. I am Hapa!
